Efficient processing lines for WEEE

The UNTHA RS30 and RS60 shredders are part of RSB by Cordon Group's three WEEE processing lines and contribute to the efficient shredding of electronic waste. Around 7,000 tonnes of circuit boards and electrical appliances from the telecommunications sector are processed every year. The materials contained are thus separated from each other and can be returned to the material cycle.

About the buyer
1

RSB was founded in 2002 and currently employs around 19 people at its site in Amancy. Each year, approximately 7,000 tonnes of electronic waste from the telecommunications sector are processed. The various materials are shredded, separated from each other and returned to the material cycle. They are ideal for recycling or the production of new products.

Initial situation
1

When RSB was founded, the company initially focussed on the manual processing of e-waste. As the volume of WEEE increased and the company grew, more efficient mechanical solutions became necessary. RSB was looking for suitable shredders to break down and separate electronic products into their individual components – plastics, metals and bulkhead fractions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4-shaft shredder

  • Low-speed drive

  • Replaceable perforated screens

  • Insensitivity to impurities

Why opt for an UNTHA shredder?
1

One RS30 and two RS60 are part of RSB's three processing lines and contribute to the efficient recycling of printed circuit boards and electronic waste. The RS models are low-speed 4-shaft shredders that are ideal for shredding various materials. Different granulate sizes from 15-100 mm can be produced using exchangeable perforated screens. These shredders and their cutting systems are also particularly insensitive to impurities. The automatic reversing system of the RS60 provides additional protection against the ingress of non-shreddable components. The two RS60 are fed automatically by a conveyor belt and are equipped with an infeed device that allows the material to be fed into the cutting system and shredded even faster. The shredded material is then sorted using various processes and fed into different utilisation and recycling processes.

With the shredders from UNTHA – RS30 and RS60 – we operate several processing lines for the recycling of e-waste from the telecommunications sector. These slow-running 4-shaft shredders are very resistant to disruptive material and efficient.
